• At CHS we help grant making foundations accomplish their goals by engaging grantees in Action Learning Collaboratives.
  • Many foundations are seeking ways to help grantees optimize their work by using best practices and collaborating for greater impact.
  • An Action Learning Collaborative is an efficient strategy for engaging multiple grantees in focused learning and development.
  • Explore below to learn more about how we work with foundations to develop and deliver Action Learning Collaboratives.

  • In Step 1 we work closely with foundation staff to define the focus of the Collaborative.
  • The focus is defined by two aspects: the participants and the purpose.
  • The participants typically include a set of grantee organizations and possibly other organizations that may have an interest in the project.
  • The purpose may be defined in terms of any goal or objective of interest to the foundation and the participants, such as:
    • Improving one or more aspects of community health
    • Building the organizational capacity of grantees
    • Creating collective impact through strategic collaboration
    • Any combination of the above.
